Donald S. Karanewsky has nearly 40 years of experience in the pharmaceutical (OrthoPharmaceuticals, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Glaxo, Novartis) and biotechnology sectors (IDUNPharmaceuticals, Ligand, Senomyx) with a proven record of drug discovery success. His pharmaceutical experience spans the areas of cardiovascular medicine, inflammatory, degenerative, and metabolic diseases, as well as oncology. His expertise in directing and executing studies directed toward the chemical optimization of the in vitro/in vivo activities of lead compounds has led to the discovery of several clinical candidates in these fields of medicine. Dr. Karanewsky graduated from Stevens Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Chemistry and from Harvard University with a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry.
